Day 1: from Fes – Ifrane – via Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – to Merzouga – Camel Ride – Luxury Desert Camp

After a short stroll and photos, continue toward the cedar forests of Azrou, where you may spot wild Barbary macaque monkeys playing in the trees.

The journey will continues through Midelt city , a mountain town known for its apple orchards, where you’ll pause for lunch (not included). In the afternoon, follow the road through the spectacular Ziz Valley, with its lush date palm groves, dramatic gorges, and Berber villages built of clay.

By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Merzouga desert sahara , at the edge of the mighty Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, a camel caravan will be waiting to take you across the glowing orange dunes just as the sun sets, a magical moment you’ll never forget. After about an hour’s trek, you’ll reach your luxury desert camp in the heart of the Sahara.

Day 2: from Merzouga – via Rissani – Todgha Gorge – to Dades Valley

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Sahara, one of the most unforgettable sights of the journey. After breakfast at luxury desert camp, you will ride camels again (or transfer by 4×4 optional ) back to Merzouga village, where your driver awaits.

The adventure continues with a stop in Rissani, a historic town and former caravan hub, famous for its lively traditional market. From here, travel west toward the impressive Todgha Gorges, where sheer limestone cliffs tower over a narrow canyon carved by the Todgha River. You’ll have time to walk along the gorge and soak in the dramatic scenery before continuing on.

In the late afternoon, arrive at the beautiful Dades Valley, often called the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs.” The landscapes here are breathtaking, with green fields, fortified villages, and red rock formations shaped like monkey fingers. Dinner and overnight stay in a charming riad or hotel overlooking the valley.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, follow the scenic Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through the oasis of Skoura, dotted with palm groves and ancient kasbahs. Continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” where famous movies like Gladiator and Game of Thrones were filmed.

Next, explore the legendary Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Morocco’s most iconic fortified villages. Wander through its winding alleys and mud-brick towers before continuing the drive across the High Atlas Mountains via the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m).
